TRIBUTE TO REM KOOLHAS "CASA DA MUSICA BY ANDRE CHIOTE | ART PRINT
This impressive minimalist and super graphic poster of Casa da Musica by André Chiote captures one of the world's most iconic buildings.
As you walk around the streets of any city, you come to realise that each building holds an aesthetic essence that sets it apart from its neighbours. It is in the graphic potential of these combinations that André Chiote, an architect and illustrator based in Portugal, creates his minimalist prints.
Designed by Award Winning Deutch architect Rem Koolhaas for 2001 Porto Capital of Culture. Some have described Casa da Musica as resembling a meteorite that has landed in the middle of the city. Others have labelled it an architectural masterpiece.
Whatever the view may be, controversial or acclaiming, one thing that is certain is that this building is now part of the collective urban memory of Porto city.
Andre's Casa da Musica illustration captures the expressive force of this building, characterised by it's eye-catching irregular shape and large window overlooking the cityscape.
Andre's illustrations have stormed the world's of architecture and his work has been praised by Dezeen, Archdaily, Design Boom, Trendland and Huffigton Post. His work not only celebrates iconic architecture but the person behind the design. A wonderful gift idea and certainly will add a sense of refinement to your space!
André Chiote is a Portuguese architect graduated from the University of Porto - Portugal - but his ultimate passion is illustration and is achieving worldwide recognition in architecture illustration.
André has participated in several individual and collective exhibitions (Painting and Photography) in Portugal, Spain, France and Germany. He's work is represented at the gallery of Portuguese Architects Association and Andre has several commissions works and publications in Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, South Korea, India, Brazil and USA.
